This title continues on the story introduced in The Last of Us by centering around Ellie this time around instead of having players take control of Joel. During a developer’s panel, director Neil Druckmann revealed that this sequel takes place several years after the first. He also goes on to compare it to the first game noting that while the original is a story about love, this one will be a story about hate.
