Microsoft has revealed the release date of the newer, slimmer Xbox One S. The new console launches August 2nd. This, however, is only for the 2 TB model which will set you back $399.99. The cheaper 500 GB model has still yet to be dated.
According to Microsoft, the Xbox One S is 40% smaller than the original Xbox One, has an internal power supply, supports 4K resolutions for movies, and uses HDR technology to “[e]xperience richer, more luminous colors”.
In other Xbox One S news, Microsoft has recently revealed that the console will not support Kinect right out of the box. Instead, gamers will have to buy a $40 adapter for the use of Kinect.
